Lago Vista Blind Kitty is a little local satire publication with a very simple assignment: love the town, read the records, and let people laugh.

Alley Cat
Editor-in-chief. Asleep-in-chief.

Yes, this is satire.

Alley Cat runs the newsroom. Mittens O’Malley writes between naps. Our first story’s numbers link to the actual documents, and our jokes do not turn a source into an endorsement.

The Kitty responds to the Lago Vista Watchdog’s coverage. It is a separate publication with its own name, artwork, and voice. We appreciate useful public records, even when we think the headline could use a nap.

The house rules

  • Be warm to people. Aim the joke at the framing, the jargon, or the cat’s enormous ego.
  • Keep the context. A good result doesn’t cancel a concern. A concern doesn’t cancel the good.
  • Bring receipts. Name the source and year. Say when a claim comes from someone else’s reporting.
  • Fix our own hairballs. Correct factual errors in the article and keep a dated correction note.
  • No tragedy punchlines. When the story involves grief or someone getting hurt, put the claws away.

About this first edition

Our first story is about Lago Vista students and the good things happening in our schools. We looked at the grades, cheered for the kids, and had a little fun along the way. The source links are at the bottom of the story if you want to check the numbers yourself.

How this was made

AI tools helped collect source pages, review the tone, adapt the artwork, and build this site. Document checks and editorial choices are described in the article’s source notes. An AI review is a second opinion, not a factual certification.
